Research Information and the Last-Mile: Evidence from a Scale-Up Experiment
Abstract
"This study examines the effectiveness of sharing research evidence with policymakers to improve policy implementation. Using a field experiment in the Dominican Republic's education system, the paper evaluates the impact of disseminating evidence-based information during a national policy scale-up. Results indicate that while additional follow-up calls significantly improved program adoption, sharing research findings did not enhance compliance. These findings highlight the importance of proactive engagement and monitoring strategies over standard communication tools in achieving successful policy implementation."
